Finishing this Years “Corridor of Prides”
Ever since we put together TAMPA PRIDE last year we looked and noticed all the Central Florida Pride events. I came up with the title of “Corridor of Prides” along the I-4 and I-75. TAMPA PRIDE and myself are proud to have been a part of the annual GLBTA city Pride events across Central Florida. We wanted to help show our diversity in neighborhoods and in large and small city communities. Our assistance with cooperative associations that many city Pride festivals that do not receive positive of support. And lastly to strengthened the awareness in all the communities of GLBTA empowerment and assets to recognition in the areas neighborhoods.
Pride events this past spring/ summer that were held in Lakeland, Melbourne, St. Pete, Orlando, Sarasota and of course ours in Tampa.
This past weekend Sarasota Pride took the spotlight for the weekend. A full variety of festive events took place minus the parade. Their Pride setting was in a park along the downtown parkway across from the Gulf of Mexico.  The Pride chair was Cindy Barnes and her group of volunteers. A time for reconnecting with new and old friends from near and far. I enjoyed seeing friends from Sarasota I haven’t seen since the old Suncoast Resort Days in St. Pete. The 80 degree, light gulf breeze, clear blue sky day turned out to provide for a spectacular social. The hundreds of vendors were mobbed by the large fall gaiety crowd. Colorful costumes, great singing groups performing in the great outdoors, networking and sharing some of the same ideas that we have and exhibit.
The event provided a large political arena for many organized local and presidential campaigns, a huge number of area church groups, health incubators and mobile units for health screenings, community businesses expanding their demographics and an array of merchants selling rainbow gifts and crafts.
We hope that you have enjoyed the many Pride events this past year along the re known “Corridor of Prides!”

Baxter’s Closing.

Baxter’s Closing.
The last weekend at Baxter’s went out with a bang. They hosted a leather fetish party here. There were 100’s of people there. In the parking lot be hind Baxter’s were tents with a big vendor show. Baxter’s will be missed by many in our community. The only good thing is that they are going to be knocking down the building!! Thank Goodness those wall can’t talk!

Subject: We’re Taking it Off, Nov 7
Dear Friends:
Let’s Take it Off!
Scantily clad men and women, delicious eats, hand-crafted beverages and a historic venue. Our friends at METRO Wellness & Community Centers are about to throw a party that’s not to be missed!
We’re looking forward to celebrating the organization that has watched over the health of Tampa Bay’s LGBT community with unwavering compassion for the last two decades. Without METRO, so many of our LGBT youth, seniors and community would not have access to essential services for health and wellbeing.
Enjoy a magical evening catered by Beach Drive’s Stillwater’s Tavern, an open bar and pop-up performances from a professional burlesque company in a grand historic setting.
Your ticket price will go towards the thousands of dollars in un-funded programing offered to our LGBT community by METRO. Let’s celebrate this guardian angel of the LGBT community, November 7th in St. Petersburg’s historic warehouse district.
Please click the link below to join us for an amazing evening!

RECIPE: Great Fall Apples In  a Tasty Autumn Waldorf Salad
It is coming into Florida’s fall and no better way to enjoy the season than by enjoying the fresh  fall crop of crispy apples and pears.
This is an enjoyable easy salad recipe we love to eat. It is like a granola bar in a bowl for lunch or shared with dinner. Easy to make. Tart & Tasty.
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and diced
  • 1 Red Delicious apple, cored and diced
  • 1 Asian pear, cored and cubed
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup seedless green grapes, halved
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 1/4 cups plain yogurt
  •  1/3 cup brown sugar
  •  3/4 cup mayonnaise (we use Dukes)
  •  3 tablespoons lemon juice or key lime

In a large bowl, combine the fall crispy Granny Smith apples, Red Delicious apple, Asian pear, celery, almonds, golden raisins, grapes and cranberries. In a separate bowl, stir together the yogurt, brown sugar, mayonnaise & lemon juice. Pour the dressing over the fruit mixture and stir gently until evenly coated. Refrigerate.

You Just Can Not make This Up

We all know who Queen Elizabeth is. Right? We also know that her Mom was the Queen Mum. The Queen Mum’s nicknames was “The Old English Rose” . The Queen Mum’s father was Albert. So The Royal Albert China has the most famous pattern in the world call “Old Country Rose” named after the Queen Mum. Are you with me so far???? Every afternoon at Tea Time the Queen Mum did a social no no. She preferred to use a Morning Breakfast Cup and not a tea cup. The breakfast cup was larger and also called a dunking cup. You could dunk your toast into this cup. When asked why she prefers this Morning cup the Queen Mum said with a big smile. “When you put ice cubes into a regular tea cup there is not enough room to the Beefeaters Gin. So I got to thinking…. If this cup is good enough for that old Queen, it’s good enough for this old Queen LOL… LMAO…. Cheers Tea Cup
