You Just Can Not Make this Up!!!

Oh the joys and laughs of being a bartender. On night a cute guy was telling me that he was out celebrating that he just graduated college. His bill came to $18 and on his charge he added a $5 tip for a total of $25. I guess he wasn’t a math major! The next day 4 young girls came in. The one proudly ordered 4 bud lights. I say “NO WAY!”  The girls looked confused and said “Why Not?” I replied that all 4 were wearing club bracelets from last night that said “UNDER 21” and still had black X s on their hands. LMAO LMAO

G.BAR ST. PETE Grand Opening

On embankment to seeing what the 2 Steves and Ernie have again accomplished in Tampa Bay. The 2 Steves refer to D.Stephen Moss & Steve Donahue and Ernie Webb, owners of Honey Pot in Ybor City and previous owner’s to Social Club & GBAR Tampa.

The new 2 story GBAR St Pete Grand Opening in downtown St. Pete on 3rd Ave North is on a very busy street.. It was formerly a restaurant. The lines were long and spotlights were piercing the skies in downtown. A quick Donahue wave and we were inside listening to the ‘right before the massive crowd speech’ to all the new employees by the club owners. Opening night in a new city. How exciting! Free drinks, no entry cover, spotlights shooting beams of light to the heavens in the street, blocks full of people. The 2 story building is smaller in size but has a ton of personality. Concerts will become amazing. Downstairs have 2 large easy to get to bars and one upstairs. Smaller getaway rooms that will have more intimate conversations. The balcony is wrought iron and overlooks with a super view of your future lucky star.

The GBAR St Pete will be open Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights at the beginning. Eventually to be open 7 days.

It seems that the area residents love the downtown bar.

Congrats & Good Luck my good friends to another venture for the LGBT community.

Congratulations TAMPA BAY PRIDE BAND for Echoing Paris Gay Games

Road Trip To St Pete with Mark Eary

Travelling with me can be a fast expeditious Saturday night experience. Ybor’s Mark Eary rode shotgun and radio engineer to St. Pete so I could get stories and happenings in St. Pete for “Dishing”. First stop was to see the new additions and expansions being made at Metro Wellness. A lot of new construction started and what a great homage to the areas LGBTA community. A full medical facility in the making. Kudos….

Thank You to CEO Lorraine Langlois, Program Directors, Board members and staff that make Metro a International name. Onto Georgie’s Alibi... Yes, it took forever to get a drink so we left! Punky’s Bar & Grill was packed and everyone out for Saturday grub. New construction on Central from 34th St to downtown St Pete. Condos and apt. galore.

The parking lots were full for the Rays game along Central Ave and noticed Fergs was a little slower than we usually see it.Again the ballgame had started.

Enigma was a block away and what a surprise… a reserved Parking Space right in front for us! Greeted with hugs from bartenders Melvin and Josh at the front bar. Slinging drinks for everyone and who yells out but Brian Kahn andSam. They had a group of friends heading over to the Grand opening of GBAR St Pete later on.

Then a trip back over the bridge to Ybor City all before 10:30.

Well, another great tale and bucket list adventure for Mark Eary riding with the Mr. Carrie.

Tampa Bays 1st LGBTA Sports Gathering Networking Day

The first get together of like minded Tampa Bay LGBTA Sports Leagues and athletes converged on Mary’s Pub.  Sports is really a growth area in the Tampa Bay market. That is no light task and serious business for the LGBTA community also.

6 different sports groups met to strategise for the communities benefit. LGBTA Sports Groups included Softball, Kickball, Dodgeball, Tennis, Touch Football, Monday & Daytime Bowling leagues. USF Football was there and support was given by the Rays Baseball group.

Partnering in the events is both Tampa Pride and St Pete Pride organizations.

In a matter of weeks the Tampa Bay market will play host to the Tampa Bay National Gay Softball World Series 2018 bringing about 7500 ball players and visitors to our beautiful area for 10 days starting September 2.

Many great parties are already scheduled in downtown Tampa and Ybor City.
