Sunday, August 23, is National Cuban Sandwich Day

If you look at what’s pressed inside that Cuban bread, ham from the Spanish, salami from the Sicilians, roast pork from the Cubans, along with Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard from the German and Jewish community, you’ll get a glimpse of our make up as a city. Every layer is a different cultural tradition, stacked on top of each other and pressed until it becomes one thing worthy of celebration.
