Guess What We Found at SCHILLER’s???
Three of our favorite stores are in the Cypress & Rome Ave in Tampa.  “SCHILLER Salvaged Architectural Elements & Furnishings”  www.SCHILLER.com  You are not going to believe what we found here!!! Shiller’s have a great number of sinks, doors, windows and fixtures from the famous historic demolished Biltmore Hotel in Bellair, Fl. The grandioso local hotel by builder and railroad tycoon, Henry Plant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belleview-Biltmore_Hotel
Across the street is “Wood Window Makeover”   http://woodwindowmakeover.com/ They did an incredible job restoring our Historical Windows. A couple blocks to the north at 1717 W Arch St.,  is “The Vintage Warehouse / La Casita Home Decor.”  https://www.facebook.com/La-Casita-Home-Decor-239596439430770/
People from all over are talking about the Architectural Re-Purposing District on Rome Ave.
After the ‘Video of the Week Find’ are some photos of all three places. The gazebo outside of The Vintage Warehouse will look great at our new home. Just say n

The first round in our election process in Florida is over. After hundreds of telemarketing politico advertising calls and the many pounds of flyers in the mail box, we get a breather,
It takes a lot of inner spirit and hard work to be a candidate running for public office. The scrutiny about you, family and who you associate with. The media look into any club memberships you belong to and who have contributed to your campaign is unbelievable for each and every candidate. There has to be dirt somewhere in your closet they figure. With that said we congratulate All candidates for running for public office.
Less than 19% of the registered voters in Hillsborough County voted! Pinellas County fared better at 28%.
Congratulations to the Democrat winners who go on to the November ballot. We want to mention a few race results.  Pat Kemp who is running for Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners District 6 countywide won almost a majority of voters. Also running in the same county seat was Brian Willis. Cathy James running for Hillsborough County School Board District 7 took home the winning ticket. Running for the same position was first time candidate Alan Clendenin. In the close Hillsborough Clerk of Courts race incumbent Pat Frank beat out Commissioner Kevin Beckner. Both are great friends of ours and to the community. For State Representative District 70 for a 3 county area community activist & St Pete businessman Dan Fiorni lost to Wengay Newtion by 12 votes. State Senate District 19 was won narrowly by Darryl Rousen over candidates Ed Narrain, Betty Reed and Augie Ribiero.
Now on to the Big November election.

What 3 Things Happen Every Labor Day Weekend?
comandar
There are 3 things we can count on every Labor Day Weekend.
1. There will be a storm and a lot of times hurricanes! And of course Friend get togethers.
2. Most of our friends go to Southern Decadence in New Orleans http://www.southerndecadence.net/
3. What is your Louisiana Fav, Gumbo or Jambalaya??? We were having this debate with Chris Myers https://www.facebook.com/chris.myers.79656921?fref=ts the bartender at Liquid Lounge. The big difference is that Gumbo is more of a soup that you add okra in and serve over rice. Jambalaya in the final step you add rice then cook. It is basically a New Orleans version of our Spanish Paella.
Then Chris shared with us that his favorite cook book with both recipes was “The Commander’s Palace New Orleans Cookbook.” With the help of our smart phone and Amazon.com a used copy for $6 was ordered on the spot. We must agree that this is a fun cookbook every=one show have. THANK YOU Chris.
Now back to the debate which is better? We say a combination of both.

BEADS
beads
The parade season is coming faster than you think. The cut off for ordering custom beads is next week. There are such great deals and assortments of great deals on organizations pre ordering regular beads now too.  Almost all of the beads are produced in China and come over in container loads.
Our favorite place for beads is Buccaneer Beads, Inc. on MLK and 40th Street in Tampa. Tell them Mark & Carrie sent you.
