The TAMPA PRIDE 2015 commitees have been extremely busy putting together the first Spectacular TAMPA PRIDE Parade & Vendor Festival event, March 28th in historic GaYBOR/ Ybor City after a 13 year absence. At the Tuesday Night packed house meeting held at Metro Wellness & Community Center the vote was unanimous that these two top honorees help represent Tampa’s GLBTA’s growing community than do the selected Grand Marshals.
The two outstanding Tampa honored VIP celebrants are Jane Castor, Tampa’s Police Chief and Kurt King, owner of Hamburger Mary’s in Ybor City and Clearwater and new owner of Baxter’s Lounge. Kurt has also been an officer of the GaYBOR District Coalition. Both have done a remarkable job in displaying respect and diversity in the GLBTA & Tampa Bay community.
The two selected Grand Marshals will have an Invite Only TAMPA PRIDE Grand Marshals GALA event February 23 at Cristino’s Italian Coal Oven Restaurant in Ybor City.
The two will also be the honored hosts at the TAMPA PRIDE VIP Sponsor Party March 26th and will be honored in the day long TAMPA PRIDE 2015 Parade & Vendor Festival on Saturday, March 28th.

Hearts & Gurrr Night
What a great time of year to be in GaYBOR/ Ybor City this weekend. The chromatic Annual Sant’ Yago Knights Parade is Saturday night on Valentine’s Day. Love is in the air!!! Each a busy day and night by themselves and then you add them together for a wild packed night of extraordinary fun. Like adding whipped creme and cherry on an ice cream Sunday… we add the Annual Gasparilla Softball Classic with 60+ Gay Softball teams from across the U.S. and Canada in a wild 3 day softball tourney headquartered fun in Ybor. One of the oldest recognized Gay softball tournaments in the country!
The Saturday night pirate parade kicks off at 7pm from Nuccio Blvd going East on 7th Ave. A couple of hundred floats include the Tampa’s Social Krewes and colorful motley groups in the parade promenade including the prismatic Rainbow & vibrant GaYBOR Float. So give’em a cheer as they pass by.
A tip of the wise. Get your restaurant reservations in early at Cristino’s, Carne’s or Bernini’s. These nights are usually packed and sold out. 2nd item is the weather is going to be cooler than normal (cold) so dress layer warm.
