A local GaYBOR Celebrity, Bryan Chant, the owner of “The Queen & I Thai Restaurant” celebrates his Birthday at Steam Fridays @ The Honey Pot!!!! In the Spirit of Super Bowl Sunday, Steam was decorated up for “Glitter on the 50 Yard Line!” There was Astroturf on the stage with a 50 yard line, Lockers, floating in the air were Footballs, Glitter Goal Post over the Bar & even Mannequins with Glitter Helmets on. The cast performed an incredible half time show under the coaching of Head Coach Toby. Then from the sky box, DJ Greg Anderson took control of the party & it was like both teams had just WON the Super Bowl!!! A reporter ran up to Bryan & asked “You have just won the Super Bowl, what’s next?” Bryan replied “I’m Partying in GaYBOR Darlings !!!” Happy Birthday Bryan & Congratulations Steam Fridays on another over the top Party!!!

Parade starts at 7:00pm and there will be many a lost souls. Maybe one will become your Valentines Day matey!

Live from Centro Ybor 5 AM to 7 AM!!! they filmed the early morning show “Why do they call it that?” Look for the complete show in the archives soon. Many GaYBOR members were on TV. The ladies from Hamburger Mary’s were there in full drag in the cold at & on TV at 5:35AM!!!! WOW that’s GREAT!!!! Thank you all

The Tampa Bay Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’s 4th Annual PINK WEEKEND is upon us, Feb 25 – 27!
Beginning Friday, February 25th Sister Merry Widow will be hosting a Multimedia Art Show at PLAY (1701 E. 8th Ave Ybor City, Tampa ) The event will feature artists, fashion, performances by Rachael Sage and much, much more. Proceeds will be going to benefit the Hillsborough Arts Council’s Arts EducationYouth Program. 8pm-11pm. $8 Cover
Saturday, February 26th will bring an evening of fun at the fabulous Flamingo Resort in St Petersburg . Special performances by Alexis De La Mer, Iman, Bobbie York, and the Tampa Bay Sisters! 9pm-11pm. No Cover, but Donations Accepted!

The Richard L. Schlegel Legion of Honor Award for Emerging Activist is administered by the GLBTA Resource Center at American University in Washington, D.C. It recognizes a young individual (in high school or an undergraduate in college) who is living in the United States who has made outstanding contributions to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities. The recipient will receive a cash award and includes travel expenses for attending the awards ceremony.
The 2010 Richard L. Schlegel Award will be presented at the 14th annual Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Ally Resource Center Awards Ceremony on April 12th, 2011. Nominations will be accepted from now through Friday, March 4th.

Dear Carrie,
I’m Nuccia Hinckley, founder of The Italian School of Tampa located on 7th Avenue and newly appointed President of The Italian Club Ladies Auxiliary. I have been involved with the Italian Club and Ybor City for about three years now and I have worked intensely and continue to do so not just to promote Italian Culture and Language but also to recreate true Italian events that showcase the best Italian traditions.
March 5th 2011, for the 3rd consecutive year, we will be celebrating The Venetian Carnival in Tampa, an event I celebrated for the first time in 2009 for a selected group of students and friends and that in just three years has taken a life of his own and is now becoming a real tradition.
