Congratulation to Frank Reddick, our next Tampa City Councilman District 5.

What a incredible journey we all have been on! A Huge THANK YOU to our Team-Family of Volunteers, Supporters, Family & Friends. We are both are overwhelmed by the many emails & facebook well wishers. We have all made many new friends & discovered things about our community.

 

A special Thank You to Sammy Campisi who did an excellent job summing up our feelings.

I am taking a deep breath right about now.  I am wondering how I feel at this very moment,  I think I should be mad and upset, wondering out loud WHY, how could this have happened with all of us working together and so hard.  For a common goal that we all would have benefited from, and felt good about. 

 
The truth is I am not mad, or angry, or pissed off, or pointing a finger at anyone.  No!  None of that rings true.  I am so overwhelmed and taken aback by the entire event, I am Proud.  Yes I am very Proud.  I am so proud of all of us, working together for a common goal, side by side, as friends, even though some of us may not really be.  We put that aside,  No one taking the spotlight away form our common goal.  The process is a great feeling.  Each of us has earned a day off for a great effort.  I am so happy about this I could scream.   So that is what I am going to do.  At 6:30pm today I am going to scream from my balcony over 7th ave. across the street to Hamburger Mary’s balcony so loud it will be heard for blocks.
 
Carry, you never faltered, not one inch.  You were (are) A GENTLEman.  No bad mouthing to make you look better then the opponent.  No searching for bad press to use as a weapon.  I never heard you say once “vote for me because I am QUEER.”  Or in anyway use Sex as a platform.  You are the winner.  We are all the winners for working together and getting this far, we have done well and should be proud.  I f anyone thinks this race went unnoticed, you must reassess that.  All eyes were on us the entire race.  Some waiting for us to crack.  Or worse, sharpen our fingernails, to gouge someone’s, anyone’s EYE’S out.  More-over, even I did not raze my voice even once.
 
Mark, I have always loved your strength and courage.  You did the perfect WIFE thing.  I am most proud of you, for tacking a back seat for so long, I never heard you complain not even once.  You get diamonds or a trip, or both.  I have never Loved you more.
 
One more thing before I am done.  We MUST all let Reddick know that we will support him.  All of us as a group, as we are.  And When he calls on us we will answer his call together.  This wonderful group of us, that I am so Proud of, WE will await his calling.  We are that great, We are that strong.  And No-0ne can ever take that away from us.  I am always yours,

What a beautiful day full of beautiful people. The streets of Ybor were packed for this years Fiesta Days!  If a picture is worth a 1,000 words you can tell it was a great day by the smiles on everybodys faces!

 As part of their Pink Weekend, The good sisters stopped by CLUB PLAY in GaYBOR.

In conjunction with Fiesta Days The Crow Bar hosted an art show called “Crow Bazaar”.  Miss Bonny was behind the bar, there was great food, art, art & more art was everywhere, even on some bodies!

GaYBOR is all a buzz about the opening of Bradley’s this Friday. Bradley has been working on this club for over 1 year! There is also talk about a new martini bar opening  in the next couple weeks on 15th street. What’s this we over heard??? There is a New Bravo Show coming to GaYBOR? Detail to come soon!   The Ybor City – Rough Riders St Patrick’s Parade is Saturday, March 12th. Starting at 7PM.  For the first time ever the GaYBOR Float will be in this parade. GaYBOR was personally invited to be in this parade by the Rough Riders. The new line up at G.BAR has been packing the HOT Guys in! Check out all the details at www.yborclubs.com  Talk about NAUGHTY… What happens at The Reservoir stays at The Reservoir BUT…..  It appears that spring break has started early this year to the delight of everybody including Mamma!  See you all in GaYBOR!!!

Play Ball!! was heard across Tampa Bay!!! Over 850+ people were at the registration tables in GaYBOR. The groups were so large it was split between several clubs including Hamburger Mary’s, Streetcar & the Honey Pot. The ball players also brought along friends and spouses to cheer them on to the annual softball tourney. An estimated 3000+ came from around North America to enjoy the great weather, super Tampa Bay hospitality and to participate in one of America’s oldest GLBT tournaments. The whole weekend GaYBOR was packed with the HOTTEST Softball Guys!!! We only wish there were softball fields in Ybor!! Batter UP!!!!

The Annual Ybor City Chamber of Commerce Fiesta Day is Sat. Feb 26th, 11am – 6pm. This 64 year old traditional heritage festival includes venders on 7th Ave, classic ethnic cuisines abundant with aroma filling the streets to delicacy heights,  cultural activities including salsa and flamenco dancing and live entertainment throughout the day. This weekend festival is always packed. www.ybor.org

 

Fiesta Day this Saturday, February 26th Ybor City Chamber Hosts Free “Street Festival”

(Tampa, FL)  Ybor City celebrates its 64th Annual Fiesta Day this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  This free, family-oriented traditional event honors the Cuban, Spanish, Italian, German and Romanian immigrants that settled Ybor in the late 1800s.   “Come out and enjoy ‘Chamber of Commerce weather’ in our National Historic Landmark District,” invites Tom Keating, President of the Ybor Chamber.  “See Ybor City, ‘the heart and soul’ of Tampa, at its very best!”   Ybor’s own restaurants will be featured in the Sabor de Ybor.  Guests will be able to graze from one end of La Setima to the other.  The Arte de Ybor will include not only our own “creative retail,” but also a juried art show for up and coming, young artists at the Relevant Church on 16th Street.   The Maxima 92.5 Main Stage will feature Javier – Sambras Flamencas, The Danny Lozada Band and Supernatural, a Santana tribute band.  Local arts-magnet schools and the HCC Jazz Ensemble will perform on the Centro Ybor Youth Stage.   Fiesta Day 2011 is presented by BB&T Bank and sponsored by Verizon, Maxima 92.5, Centro Ybor, the St. Petersburg Times, City of Tampa and Ybor City Development Corporation.  For more information visit www.ybor.org or call 813.241.8838.
