County Leaders Turmoil on What is Right… and Other Bigoted Thinking!
The Annual GaYBOR Days 2011 excitement means that it is the 4th of July in historic Ybor City. A jubilant time of positive cultural events, venues, acts and entertainment. An unsolicited Official Proclamation came from The White House and signed by President Barack Obama for a successful GaYBOR Days Week. Like wise a Proclamation came from Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and from Tampa CIty Council Members. All the 250+ business members are proud of what is happening in the gem of Tampa Bay, historic Ybor City. The 4th annual four day event includes, a FREE Community Health & Wellness Fair, The Harvey Milk Movie Night with Una Voce Chorus and Special Guest Harvey Milk’s nephew and human rights advocate Stuart Milk, GaYBOR Infamous 14 Stop Bar Crawl and a High Energy Music Festival. A mere $25 get you into these plus more events.
Independently something is happening every night, a top International VJ’s, high profile porn stars, dancers, bands, great Famed Drag Shows and great shopping and super hotel rates in most all GaYBOR establishments. Thousands of tourists and visitors come spend big dollars and stay where once the district businesses and hotels had closed its doors for the 4 day weekend. Now bustling with so many activities, the 4 day showcase of the historic cigar district has had a snag in the glitches of the county government officials. A wad in their underwear is more like it!!!
Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner started the annual Proclamation signing 3 years ago at County Hall. We had three commissioners sign 2 years ago, Comm Kevin Beckner, Comm Rose Ferlita, and Comm Kevin White.
This year only Comm Beckner & Comm Les Miller have signed the “we stand to salute your economic growth constituents as independent business leaders in a less than foggy economy” pat on the back.
You Are Not A Second Class Citizen in this County!!! Fight back, get involved and write to all the commissioners for a positive effort of support to all the GLBTA community members.
This is NOT a Pride Event but it is a showcase of businesses in the great Landmark Historic District.

St. Pete Pride Weekend
Everybody is talking about this years 9th Annual St. Pete Pride Promenade & Street Festival. This year the Saturday morning promenade will start 1 hour earlier. Line up for the promenade is at 7:30 AM with the kick off at 9 AM.Rain or Shine. It is always started by the infamous 100’s of Dykes on Bikes leading and clearing the pathway down Central Ave. for the parade followers. This year it is an great honor to have the
