It was 35 years ago that Aspen said lets do a gay skiing weekend and that started a trend for other ski areas to follow. This years Bud Light ad campaign has gone to the campiness side for the week long trendy gay ski party, Jan 15-22. The benefactors this year go to GLSEN, the Trevor Project, the Point Foundation, West Colorado AIDS Project and Gender Identity Center of Colorado. Each year the Sundance Film Festival selects 200 films for exhibition from more than 9,000 submissions. More than 50,000 people attend screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah. In addition to discovering filmmaking’s newest talent through the Festival’s program of documentary, dramatic, and short films, Festival goers experience live music performances, panel discussions with leading filmmakers and industry figures, cutting-edge media installations, parties celebrating the Festival community, and more.

A lot of the GLBT films that are premiered at Sundance often make the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in October. Some films on the festivals gay radar are , “The Thing”, “Red States”, “My Idiot Brother”, Few Days of Respite”, and gay film maker Gregg Araki’s film, “Kaboom”.

Just Wanted to Give You a Quick Update on Epoch Our January issue of Tampa Epoch is now in many vendors hands.  It has a RED logo on the cover.  If you see any vendors selling December issues (Blue logo), please let them know that we will take the prior issue in trade for the new issue at no cost to them. We are at our usual location at  the Army Surplus Store parking lot between 7 and 8:30 AM every day except Sunday to exchange papers as they need. Location is 1312 N. Ybor Pub Crawl to Benefit the Ronald McDonald House
