The Tampa PRIDE Launch Party
& Cocktail Reception!!!!
The beginnings of a special historic party is set to take place. The Official Kick-Off of TAMPA PRIDE is this Friday, at the Honey Pot. The grand charity cocktail reception will be from 6-10pm with a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and live entertainment. Information about the upcoming TAMPA PRIDE will also be released.
The large benefit party is for the resurrection of TAMPA PRIDE after an absence of a Gay Pride Parade and Festival for 14 years. The thoughtful theme is ” Out of the Storm.”
Come out and help support one of the newest Tampa events for the GLBT and Friends community. A $10 donation and a list of corporate sponsorship packages will be available.
The TAMPA PRIDE events are planned for Saturday, March 28th. Street Vendor Show 10-5pm and the huge TAMPA PRIDE Parade at 1 -3pm. All events are being held during the day in GaYBOR District in historic Ybor City.

In gay pop news Nick Jonas, who at 22 is the youngest of the Jonas Brothers musical troupe, has this week admitted that the group never really acknowledged their gay fans due to their ‘purity’ image. And so it goes. The newly opened GLBT Mist Martini Bar in Gaybor District’s 15th Street had a Yappy Social Hour Sunday for all the dogs & friends. The Humane Society and other dog rescue groups will be bringing dogs from the centers available for adoptions to great homes in the next couple of months.
The R Bar is no longer, It closed its doors last week in a landlord- tenant dispute. The Rowboat now has a full service bar in its restaurant next door. Opa!! We hear a wild pool party was held this past weekend for Metro Wellness Benefit at St. Pete House. A full moon setting.
New at the Flamingo Resort is our own Sheriff Michael Wilson hired as the facilities Food, Beverage and Entertainment Director. Good luck Michael. The new Latin Might at G BAR launched Friday night to a tremendous turnout of salsa loving music-teers. The hot Latin dancers and Drag Illusion show was really upbeat and 1st rate !
Miss colorful Dana Cass, former Hamburger Mary’s Tampa and titled 2014 Miss GaYBOR, is back at home in Iowa doing drag in a whole new meaning. Good luck smiling Girl! News at City Side Lounge. The old street sign hovering over the lounge on Henderson Blvd is coming down with a new logo we were told by owner, James Encke.
The news story about the gay Philadelphia couple walking last week in the Love City were beaten and put into the hospital by some gay bashers reported by Philly police. One of the identified punching members of the afflicting hate group was a Catholic school assistant coach in Philly. One of the guys beaten had a broken eye socket and the other had to have his broken jaw wired shut. Just say’n Love City or not!
