Polk Pride 2015

Polk Pride 2015
The First Outdoor Pride event for Polk Pride 2015 was a huge success. Scott Guira, Lakeland Youth Alliance coordinator for the weekend Pride event and Pride committee leaders were given a commendation by Lakeland City Commissioners James Malless and Justin “Coach” Troller on stage at the beginning of the Pride In the Park that was set in Munn Park in downtown Lakeland.
Friday kicked off the weekend fest with flamboyant movie and TV star from “Will & Grace”, comedic Leslie Jordan performed to a packed crowd at the Polk Theater.
Saturday’s festival, Pride in the Park had a large number of business and Non Profit vendors from around Central Florida. Along with a long list of entertainers, musical groups and a side street full of Food Trucks.
Congratulations to Polk County millennial youth groups showing and demonstrating GLBT diversity in smaller communities.

Happy 40th Birthday, ‘Oeil de Perdrix’, (White Zinfandel)
The French name “Oeil de Perdrix” ( French for ‘eye of the partridge’) was the original name to the most popular wine of our times, “White Zinfandel.” Created by accident in 1972 by Bob Trinchero, Trinchero Family Estate owner and winemaker and bottled in 1975 from the Nappa County California famed wine country estate of Sutter Home Winery. Thus White Zinfandel is an American born favored dry wine.
White Zinfandel is not a grape variety but a method of processing grapes. It was one of the greatest contributors to wine enthusiasts and non wine drinkers in establishing a palate for an increase in wine drinking in the 1980s thru 2000’s.
So we salute a Great 40th Birthday wish to White Zinfandel

You Can Not make this Up.

We were on a trip to New Orleans. Carrie found a small hotel in a great location in the French Quarter. As we were checking in a guest  walked up and said, “Excuse me there is somebodies having sex in our room.”
The clerk smiled and said, “Oopps I must have given you the wrong room.”
When we checked into our walk up the stairs room, the first thing we noticed was how over sized the furniture was for such a small room. The door to the bathroom hit the bed and only opened 1/2 way. LOL
The bathroom had some water problems. Parts of the dry wall had been replaced and not re painted. LOL Then we noticed the chain on the door. It was broken off. LOL
The next day we were looking for a place to charge our cell phone when we made a very usually discovery. There were 2 passports tucked in at the foot of the bed??? They looked like and were the same person with different names & dates of births. Most unusual was the hundreds of countries she had been to in both passports.
After much advice as what to do with them… We gave them to the hotels clerks desk and had them be turned over to the authorities.
