Mark & Carrie Nephieu/Niece of the Week
You Can Not make this Up.
A good friend of ours was coming to Tampa for her final job interview with a large company. Going down the big escalator at Tampa International Airport to the baggage area there was a guy standing with her name on a card. WOW she thought how very nice. The guys name was Larry and he welcomed her to Tampa. Outside there was a car waiting for them. Off to the hotel they went. On the way they talked about everything… How excited she was to be in Tampa and her possible new job & etc., etc., etc. When they arrived at the hotel Larry tapped the driver on the shoulder and the driver gave a thumb up. Larry then congratulate her on getting the new job. She looked surprised and said “I’m not sure what’s going on?” Larry smiled and said he was the CEO of the company and the driver was the head of HR…. This just shows it’s always good to be nice to everyone.

“We are working each day to ensure that Tampa is making the right investments for future generations. We are expanding recreational programs throughout the Fall to keep kids safe, adding public art to keep kids curious, and adding jobs to give kids the chance to succeed right here in Tampa. Our greatest asset is the one closest to home – our children.” |

One of our favorite drag performers had just got off work and was picked up by her boyfriend. The two of them stopped for the cross walk on 7th Ave & 16th street in front of Centro Ybor. Out of no where a pickup truck came racing down the street and hit the back of their car. The pick up then pulled over into the side street. The driver jumped out and checked his truck for damage, then drove off. Mean while the car had lunged forward 20 feet and stopped right in front of people drink martinis on the sidewalk in front of Carne’s. One lady grabbed her cell and called 911. The dispatcher on the phone asked “Is anybody hurt? Do you need an ambulance?” They lady replies “No I think everybody is OK but wait…… OH NO I THINK THIER DOG IS DEAD!!! Its not moving! It’s just laying there!” and starts to cry. The person next to her says “Excuse me lady but that is not a dog. It’s her wig that was knocked off!!!”
