This week we were sharing hurricane stories. A good friend of our told us this one. OMG!!!! After Hurricane Andrew hit Florida the storm then made landfall into Mississippi as a tropical storm. Our friend had his colonoscopy scheduled for that day. The hospital assured him it would be OK. The procedure started (back then the Doctors used large hose like tubes). Just as they started the storm hit and the power went out. There he was on the table all attached up. The Doctors said “Don’t worry we have back up generators and they will come back on in a couple minutes.” Our friend said that was the longest 3 minutes of his life!!! LOL

Ybor City Parking Garages and Surface Lots
A new parking rate schedule has been approved for Ybor City’s Centro Ybor and Fernando Noriega Palm Avenue parking garages and its three surface parking lots. The following rates are effective immediately:
$1.00 per hour with a maximum rate of $9.00 after 8 hours in the
following Ybor City Garages:
Centro Ybor Parking Garage – 1500 E. 5th Avenue
Fernando Noriega Palm Avenue Garage – 2010 N. 13th Street$1.00 per hour at the following 3 City Surface Lots
Ybor City Lot #3 – 1701 N. 19th Street
Ybor City Lot #5 – 1812 N. 19th Street
Ybor City Lot #6 – 1813 N. 19th Street
following Ybor City Garages:

One of our favorite gems of Ybor City is The La Gaceta Newspaper. This is the only tri lingual newspaper in America. A “MUST READ” every week is the “As We Heard It, By Patrick Manteiga.” As Editor and Publisher Patrick is the 3rd generation to run the paper.
