We are pleased to announce a “conversation” about issues facing the life of a trans gender woman in America. Personally, I recently heard her presentation at a Title IX conference at USF and the Diversity Council unanimously agreed to provide this presentation at HCC. Happy Retirement
Barbara Fara, the sales manager at The Hampton Inn & Suite Ybor will be retiring this week. Barbara was a huge community supporter and worked very close for 10 years with MC FILM, GaYBOR District Coalition, TAMPA PRIDE, Ybor Chamber of Commerce and most of the Ybor clubs.. She plans to enjoy life with her grand children more. Best of wishes to Barbara and her family.

Condolences
It was a sad day in Ybor City when Randy Kirk passed way this week. Randy was the General manager at Bernini’s. His smiling face will be missed in Ybor City.
Chocolate Festival, Food Truck Way
The new Food Truck Chocolate Rally at Centro Astruiano de Tampa in Ybor City and in the parking lots next door. The beautiful beaux-arts revival classical building is one of only a few left in the country. The building was a social club for Spaniards living in Tampa.
Thousands of hungry Foodies sampled their way all around the park on the last weekend 80 degree February day.

You Just Can Not make This Up
The year was 1980. We were moving to Tampa. Looking for an apartment next to USF in North Tampa. There was a big complex on Fletcher Ave. We walked in and asked if there were any 1 bedroom apartments available? The person behind the desk took off her glasses and said… :NO WE DO NOT RENT TO HOMOSEXUALS!!!” Surprised we asked “What makes you think we are Gay?” She replied only homosexuals would ask for a 1 bedroom. The next apartment complex we asked for a 2 bedroom unit.
