The Krewe of Alagria
Oh how we love this krewe!!! This past Saturday they organized a Dixie Jazz Band Funeral up and down 7th Ave in Ybor City. What brought on this mourning procession??? The end of our parade season!!! Inside the coffin was the skeleton of a poor pirate covered in beads. Viva Ybor City!!!

Gay Days Orlando 2016 Coming June 2-5th
Better have your pennies (More like $$$$) saved for this years Gay Days or Mickey’s Toast of the Mouse Town of events. Every year the beginning of June the Mecca calling GLBT travelers worldwide to Orlando for all the week long fun, Queen pageantry, too many memorable parties, Gay organization and friends reunions and 100’s of unexpected events at one of the largest Gay parties in the world.
The host hotel is again the fabulous luscious Double Tree Hotel at Sea World is the Host Hotel. The Expo, pool parties, cabana resort style rooms and the Taste of Gay Days are all at this spacious 25 acre resort hotel. Besides hitting up Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Universal Studios there are so many added events one can take in to enjoy and make everlasting memories and friends.
Mark & Carrie were founding volunteers to the making of this great event starting 26 years ago. Then it was plain Gay Disney Days. And boy has it grown to an unbelievable amount of fun. www.gaydays.com

Ybor City Wine Bar’s “Sip & Shop”
The Annual wine event had a huge attendance. With over 16 wine reps to answer questions and have a sampling of the new vineyard flavors. The Centro Ybor shop was packed with somewhat long lines for wine coinsures to abust their pallets.
Owner Jayme koser and staff did a wonderful job in the tent covered wine sample areas on Sunday. Buyers and residents from all over the Tampa Bay area were there. New un-shelved variety of wines from large and specialty small market vineyards were being introduced to the Tampa & Florida market from outside the US and were offered for sale.
The regulars who shop often had received new information, wine tastes and insight into the new marketed wines by the wine makers & distributors directly.
You Just Can Not make This Up
One of the oldest Gay bars in Tampa was also the wildest one. The KIKI One was where the bus station is today. #2 was a few block away and today is a parking lot. #3 The KIKI III was on Kennedy Blvd. It closed a couple years ago. #4 was in St. Petersburg. 10 years ago a semi truck drove thru it. Rumors had it was and unhappy customer. #3 was also a hang out for street hustlers. That’s not the crazy part of this story. Just behind the KIKI III was a nice bungalow home. It was owned by a wild leather guy. In the dinning room he had welders come in and build a prison cell. He would go to the KIKIK III and pick up guys. They would go to his home and play prisoner and cell guard. One day he decides to sell the home. The realtor tells him the cell has to go……. the owner said no it was welded in place. The home was on the market for 3 days and sold for full asking price. The straight couple who bought it actually said “We can’t wait to host our 1st dinner party in the cell.”
