Caspar the Ghost says "Please get a room"

Casper would like to let you know that the Hosts are pleased to announce they have selected the beautiful Marriott Waterside Hotel in downtown Tampa to serve as the Official Lodging Hotel* for the 2011 All Hallows Masquerade Ball! The Marriott Waterside is adjacent to the Convention Center.

What a great place to get ready for the event, or hold a pre-party with all your friends! Touch up your tan at the Marriott’s gorgeous pool. Pump up your pecs and tighten your abs at their gym and spa. Or enjoy watching those that are! No need to worry about a taxi or designated driver this year. You can just walk to the party! 

Rooms are available on Friday and/or Saturday nights at special discounted rates of $129 for a single/double and $149 for a triple/quadruple room (plus tax). You must mention that you’re a guest of the “Halloween Party” in order to receive the special rate. Discounted rates are not available anywhere online, so you must call to book your room no later than October 8th . However, Casper says it would be best to reserve it now since there are a limited number of rooms “in our block”. Call (813) 221-4900 to reserve your room.

Don’t drink and drive! A room at the Marriott Waterside is not only cheaper than getting a DUI, it’s far more comfortable and fun than a jail cell!

Run Tammy Run! Baldwin Announces U.S. Senate Bid

    Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., announced today she is a candidate for the U.S. Senate, pledging in a video released by her campaign to fight for Wisconsin’s middle-class families. Baldwin would be the first openly LGBT American to serve in the Senate. “I’ve been honest about my sexual orientation my entire adult life,” Baldwin said, adding that she believed the election would be about the people of Wisconsin rather than her personal life. Rep. Kern Says Gays Are Still National Threat, Worse Than Terrorism
    Amidst the country’s reflection and remembrance of the 9/11 attacks, Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern has sparked outrage amongst the gay community in wake of her book tour in which she reinforced her attack on gays, explaining the LGBT community is worse than the act of terrorism. Kern’s explains that her book titled, “The Stoning of Sally Kern: The Liberal Attack on Christian Conservatism and Why We Must Take a Stand,” was written in response to the backlash she received in 2008 when at that time she also attacked the gay community with similar claptrap in a nationally released video. Kern had expressed that school children were being “indoctrinated” into the gay lifestyle, and that gays are more of a threat than terrorists themselves, the Washington Post reports.  www.biggaynews.com

Iran Carries Out Death Sentences for 3 Accused of Sodomy
    An Iranian official reportedly announced that three men were hanged in Iran on Sunday for what authorities referred to as “lavat” — a phrase used in Islamic law to refer to sodomy. Human rights groups say the announcement was unusual because gay people are normally charged with crimes such as rape in order to deflect international attention from their death sentences. One researcher said at least one of the cases involved a sexual relationship between two men.
 

Mother of Gay 9/11 Hero Becomes LGBT Activist
    Alice Hoagland is happy that Osama bin Laden was found and killed under President Barack Obama’s watch, but she knows what she’d say to the president if they ever meet: “I hope you will encourage the promulgation of marriage equality across the country.” Hoagland is the mother of Mark Bingham, an openly gay man who lost his life on Sept. 11, 2001, when he and others on United Flight 93 thwarted terrorists’ plans to crash the plane into the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
