Historic Holiday Spirit in Ybor City "Art in the Park"

What do people polled remember and think about in Ybor City? Art shows. Well a juried “2nd Annual Art in The Park” by the Tampa Park’s & Recreation Dept. took place in Centennial Park with hundred artists all competing for the big prize money. It coincided with the weekly Saturday produce and crafts market. Huge crowds came to see and purchase art items in every demeanor in the more like sunny fall day.
” A great time to be outside and enjoy the Ybor festivities” said Ybor Saturday Market manager, Lynn Schultz. The art show was a big draw along with the 25 cent TECO Streetcar rides. Virginia Johnson,a newscaster reporter and hosts, ” Out On the Town” on Bay News 9, MC’d  the outside stage entertainment all afternoon. Yes, even Santa Claus came to Ybor City by the historic streetcar.
The month long planned Historic Holiday Spirit in Historic Ybor City continues on with more upcoming festive events for the whole family. Coming this Saturday is a real blizzard. A “Snow Storm on 7th Ave” in Ybor? Yes, a simulated snowstorm will be occurring all along 7th Ave between 15th and 17th Streets at 8-10pm.. TV Newscasters and weathermen  are coming to cover the freak weather occurrence.  Don’t forget about Santa pictures near the lit Christmas Tree in Centro Ybor.

Pro Wrestling at Bradley's on 7th

Pro Wrestling at a Gay Bar???? OMG is this ever FUN!!! Just being in a bar with the lights on is strange enough. Can you imagine a profession full size boxing ring complete with ropes, pads, bell all on the dance floor!!!!  That is what Bradley’s on 7th had all set up.  There was something for everybody includingmatches between guys & girls, young & older and bears too!!! All the matches were hosted by Drag Dive Robyn Demornay. Our favorite Wrestling Star was Mohammad “Bonecrusher Stud”, who is also the door man at Bradley’s. After seeing him in the ring, we all had better be good at the door of Bradley’s next time.  This was the second time Bradley’s hosted Pro Wrestling. Judging by all the fun the big crowd had it will not be the last. Let us just say for the record… “We had a Great Time & who new wrestling was so very erotic. Check out the photos we took!!!! “

Great Florida Outdoors: Treasure Island's Holiday Boat Parade

One of the great things about Florida’s holiday season is the beautifully decorated and lit boats in the statewide community boat parades. There seemed to be at least a dozen festive flotilas going on last Saturday night. St. Pete, Redington Beach, Tarpon Springs, Tampa and Treasure Island’s Boat Parades. We were happy to have been invited aboard the colorfully Christmas decorated hatted Mary Ann Bonsi and her huge yacht, the Miss Scarlett again this year for the classic Southern movie boat theming, “Gone With The Wind” water parade. And dressed up she was, all lit in white and blue shining LED lighting.
And as in the movie definitive memorable 1939 script quote, Mammy saying: “Oh now, Miss Scarlett, you come on and eat jess a little, honey!” Yes, we all did jess eat a little off a beautifully poinsettia dressed prepared buffet, par took in some tasty adult beverages, cheered land lookers and their party guests and listened to Judy B. Goode and Grady (who was dressed in a confederate soldiers uniform) sing holiday carols on board and broadcasting from the back of the vessel. Teacup cheered holiday wishes over the microphone to the many home holiday parties, condo get togethers. Company parties were well attended as we could see from the water into their annual events. John’s Pass’s many restaurants were abundantly crowded with colorfully decked out spectators. All along the bridges and streets, people stood in the most comfortable  weather and took in the full moon nights sights of the glistening colorful boats. Oh yes the benefits to an annual Florida holiday boating tradition
