Today we brought together our local, state, and federal partners for our annual Gasparilla Tabletop Exercise, training through a range of scenarios to prepare for the upcoming parades. Exercises like this are essential to ensuring strong coordination, clear communication, and readiness for large-scale events.

If you’re attending the parades, know that hundreds of officers and public safety professionals will be working together to keep our community safe. And remember: if you see something, say something, so we can do something.

Hey, Historic Ybor Residents!  There’s an opening on the Barrio Latino Commission just waiting for you.  Have you ever asked yourself, “how did that get approved for construction!?”  well, now you can find out and help steer the future of Ybor.  You may be thinking, “Do I have to be an architect? No, this seat is for Historic Ybor residents, and meetings are only about once a month.In case you don’t know what the BLC is, it’s the volunteer board that reviews all applications for what’s called a Certificate of Appropriateness.  You have to have a C.A. before you can apply for a building permit.  “But what if I am an architect that loves Ybor but I don’t live in the historic district?”  Good news! Join the Factory on Fifth studio artists and some friends for an evening of art, music, food, and community. Artists will have their studios open to share their space and work with visitors. Art Bear, Inc. will also be onsite to showcase student work. A portion of art sales go to Art Bear and their continued work with trade skills education and youth empowerment.
