Thursday night is our pre-registration party 7-10 at City Side Lounge. If you’re in town, and you register, you’re eligible to win a liquor basket just for coming!
Friday is our registration party where we’re taking over Hamburger Mary’s Pub House. I think Mary is all ready to surrender the booty, 7-10PM.
Then once you finish at the Pub, head out to one of our clubs. Steam at Honey Pot, Southern Nights Tampa and Liquid Tampa all are offering free entry with your softball wristband until midnight. And at Bradley’s there’s a never a cover. All bars / clubs have dancers / shows on Friday.
If you’re at Eddie C. Moore on Saturday or Sunday, stop by Hamburger Mary’s Clearwater location for a great spread (of lunch I mean!)
Saturday is the Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago Parade. If you finish at the fields, it a great, fun event. If you don’t want to brave Ybor City with the parade, try our other Home Run sponsors including City Side, or over the bay to Enigma St. Pete, Punky’s Bar & Grill or Flamingo Resort’s multiple bars including the dark & mysterious Code!
Sunday the party returns to our Grand Slam sponsor Hamburger Mary’s. Whether you want to chill with your bros at the Pub, or watch a great Valentine’s Day show, Mary’s has it all. We’ll do closing ceremonies once teams finish. 6-10, but you’re welcome to stay later. And the Pub has a late night breakfast!
If you’re a night owl, or want to keep the buzz going a little longer, check out our first official Afterparty on Sunday at Bradley’s on 7th from 10-close. Liquid Tampa also rocks a good Sunday night with a show.
Finally, if you aren’t into bigger crowds, but like a different atmosphere, check out sponsors Reservoir Bar and Ybor City Wine Bar. Shoot some pool with the guys at Reservoir Bar (all GLBTA welcome!) And the wine bar is quite exquisite. Tell owners Michael and Jayme that we appreciate their support.

You Just Can Not make This Up
We both love to go to auctions. You just never know what you will find. At one auction we purchased a big jewelry box full of junk. At home we opened up the box and started to take things out. There were a bunch of different drawers and levels. In the bottom of one drawer was a fake bottom. We lifted it up and there, much to our surprise was….. a pair of false teeth!!! LMAO!!! Wonder who the person was that left them there???

Gulfport Fresh Market Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

GULFPORT, FL: February marks the ten-year anniversary of the Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market. The Market was established in February 2006 by the Gulfport Merchants Association and has grown from a small handful of vendors on one block of scenic Beach Blvd. to its present roster of over 70 vendors assembled across several blocks. Customer traffic has also steadily increased over the years, and the Market now routinely has several hundred visitors on a typical day, numbering up to 3,000 visitors on high season days.
The focus of the Market is on unique and artisan goods, including as many locally-produced products as possible. A wide variety of foods is available, including locally-grown and organic produce, breads, cheese, nuts, desserts, candy, jams, sauces, local honey, olives, prepared foods and much more. Hand-made bath and body products, flowers and pet products are another mainstay. Local authors are often on hand. A master knife and tool sharpener on site will work on your knives as you shop. Artists and craftspersons, many working as you watch, are always on hand to display and sell their hand-made work, including painting, jewelry, pottery, textiles, wood, photography and more. Local musicians in two locations keep market-goers entertained with styles from rock and pop to jazz, island, and blues.

The Fresh Market also gives back to the community. A food and personal needs collection basket for the Gulfport Senior Center Pantry is located at the Merchants Association tent each week. Space is offered free of charge each week to non-profit groups to raise funds and awareness for their causes. On the second Tuesday of each month, the Fresh Market sponsors a popular clothing swap to benefit CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse). Participants bring in donated garments, and can select some to exchange. Extra clothing and donations are contributed to CASA.
The Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market is open year-round. Hours are 9am to 3pm every Tuesday (9am to 2pm during summer). The Market is located in Gulfport’s historic Waterfront District on Beach Boulevard below 28th Avenue South which also offers a variety of independent shops, boutiques, galleries, its own beach and a large cluster of restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The Fresh Market offers visitors the opportunity for a relaxing day trip in a small town full of “Old Florida” charms. Parking in the village is free.
