The Historic Amphitheatre on 7th Ave burned down last night and still has smoke permeating the air as far away to Seminole Heights. Our friend, Mark Eary was bartending on the balcony at Hamburger Mary’s and was the first to call the police and fire rescue. In one facebook post, The Hard Rock Casino reached out to the now unemployed and asked them to apply for new jobs today. Words can not describe how devastated the GaYBOR/Ybor City family is.

    We are so very lucky to have Bob Buckhorn as the Mayor of Tampa!!! As PayPal decided not to move to North Carolina because of their recent discrimination law, our Mayor has opened his arms and is welcoming PayPal Corp. to move $20 million expansion operations to Tampa! This just makes common sense.
    Can you just image what a FANTASTIC FLORIDA GOVERNOR Bob Buckhorn would make for Florida!!!

    Tampa is so proud to have had a former mayor that made a positive difference to our GLBT community and for foreseeing new industries and technologies to discover Tampa Bay area. Pam Iorio is now CEO and President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America relocating the headquarters from Texas to Tampa. She is also TAMPA PRIDE’s “Recognized Community GLBTA Supporter 2016 Award” recipients. Also honored for the award was Joe Redner.
    Both walked in celebration and honored to the community in the TAMPA PRIDE Parade March 26th.
    Traveling a great deal goes with the responsibilities of the new position, Pam hadn’t received her honored Community award in February at Cristino’s Restaurant for the TAMPA PRIDE’s Grand Marshal’s GALA.
    Presenting the award to Pam Iorio is TAMPA PRIDE’s President Carrie West.
    What a great group of recent responsible Tampa mayors! Sandy Friedman, Dick Greco, Pam Iorio and Bob Buckhorn.

You Just Can Not make This Up

    One night Tea Cup was working in a local bar. Three guys walked in. The 1st guy was an over the top Flaming Queen, the second was a straight mess and the third guy was just very creepy with long greasy gray hair wearing sunglass at night. They order one cocktail each.
    The creepy guy leans over and spoke softly saying, “Tea Cup I met you 3 years ago on May 22 at 6:03PM.” I smile & said, “OK???” He then went on to say that he was from “…the other side” and that I am the flute player who dies of rabies very soon.
    I smile and said, “I don’t play the flute!” LOL.
    He the said, “I was sent here to warn you about the rabies attack.”
    OK they are all now cut off and I walk away. The Flaming Guy leaves then the other 2 in a few minutes later. About 1 hour later the Creep and straight guy walk back in….
    The Creeper says, “We lost the Gay Guy . Do you know where he is?” I simply said no and walked way. Then Mr. Creepy pulls out a knife and starts licking it for about 5 minutes alone. I walked over to some friends and said, “Do you see that? Please don’t go anywhere!”     
    Mr. Creepy then drops the knife on the bar and walks away taking large meaningful steps. Lucky for me, I haven’t seen him again.
