There is a Cuban Sandwich Show Going On!
What on earth is a Cuban Sandwich Show? Is this a cook-off in Cuban sandwich making for a new reality TV series? Will there be an Italian Sandwich Show?  Whew… We got the scoop! It is a month long event in June for eclectic presentations of art throughout Tampa and historic Ybor City. Presented by Artists and Writers Group in Ybor City, this talented guild of “what is that” artist to superior juried prized art piece aficionados.

The Cuban Sandwich Show is an expanded version of a very popular annual arts exhibition conceived by Gordon and Denise Mhyre that originated in Ybor City in 1991 and continued in Seminole Heights for a number of years. The 2011 Cuban Sandwich Show will mark the twentieth year anniversary and is a major expansion of the event. Thank you to the new leader, David Audett.

Our Motto: All Art-All Tampa-No Mayo.  

The Artists and Writers Group, Inc. is presenting a month-long series of cultural events about Tampa titled THE CUBAN SANDWICH SHOW, at numerous venues in Tampa, June 1-30, 2011. The premise is that all the art, in all mediums, has as its subject, “Tampa…and/or Cuban sandwiches.”

We have always said “Not everybody goes to Gay Days Disney.” This weekend in GaYBOR there were record breaking crowds reported at several location!!! GaYBOR Beach was also packed all weekend long. 
Opening in GaYBOR  “Zoya Shisha Hookah Lounge”  http://www.facebook.com/ZoyaShishaLounge located on the corner of 7th Ave & 15th St. The Thursday “Tea Party with Tea Cup” was packed again!!! It has become quit the launching pad for the evening. Your first couple drinks with Tea Cup & your off to explore the magic of GaYBOR!!! On Thursday many of the clubs are very busy including The Social, JJ’s Cafe, Hamburger Mary’s, PLAY & Bradley’s on 7th. St. Pete PRIDE will be here very soon!  GaYBOR has a sign up sheet to ride the GaYBOR Float. Stop by MC Film & sign up today. Cloe from Jamming 106 has been seen all over GaYBOR with her film crew from LIVE MOR TV 32. She has been quite busy filming 17 episodes for an up coming show from GaYBOR.

The majority of the queens from GaYBOR all had contact e mails &  there rest did not. Last night there were 5 drag shows in GaYBOR.  Hum…. just say n
 
Architect M. Leo Elliott
What an exciting find for Tampa History!!!  The plans from architect M. Leo Elliott were discovered in a attic in Tampa!!! Over 500 sets of famous building all over Tampa including The Ritz Ybor, Tampa City Hall & more.
 
YAA presentation of “Essence of Ybor”
On a beautiful night “Ybor Square” was filled with art, artists & fans of art. This juried fine arts show featured 21 artists from the Tampa Bay area. Live music by several local group. Toss in a bar & good food from The Spaghetti Warehouse made for a enjoyable night.   http://www.yborart.org/
