Caspar the Ghost says "Please get a room"

Casper would like to let you know that the Hosts are pleased to announce they have selected the beautiful Marriott Waterside Hotel in downtown Tampa to serve as the Official Lodging Hotel* for the 2011 All Hallows Masquerade Ball! The Marriott Waterside is adjacent to the Convention Center.

What a great place to get ready for the event, or hold a pre-party with all your friends! Touch up your tan at the Marriott’s gorgeous pool. Pump up your pecs and tighten your abs at their gym and spa. Or enjoy watching those that are! No need to worry about a taxi or designated driver this year. You can just walk to the party!

Rooms are available on Friday and/or Saturday nights at special discounted rates of $129 for a single/double and $149 for a triple/quadruple room (plus tax). You must mention that you’re a guest of the “Halloween Party” in order to receive the special rate. Discounted rates are not available anywhere online, so you must call to book your room no later than October 8th . However, Casper says it would be best to reserve it now since there are a limited number of rooms “in our block”. Call (813) 221-4900 to reserve your room.

Don’t drink and drive! A room at the Marriott Waterside is not only cheaper than getting a DUI, it’s far more comfortable and fun than a jail cell!

That’s all for now. Casper wishes everyone a fun and safe week!  More to come soon…
Casper

Run Tammy Run! Baldwin Announces U.S. Senate Bid

Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., announced today she is a candidate for the U.S. Senate, pledging in a video released by her campaign to fight for Wisconsin’s middle-class families. Baldwin would be the first openly LGBT American to serve in the Senate. “I’ve been honest about my sexual orientation my entire adult life,” Baldwin said, adding that she believed the election would be about the people of Wisconsin rather than her personal life. The Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County Will Honor LGBT Veterans

St. Petersbug, FL:

The Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County will host an event to celebrate the official repeal of the discriminatory Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy on September 20, 2011 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Queenshead Eurobar & Restaurant.

“As the LGBT-arm of the Pinellas Democratic Party, and a leader in the LGBT community, we felt it was important to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment,” said Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County President Rick Boylan “this is a giant step toward full equality.”

According to the Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County website, this is just one of many accomplishments the LGBT Community can celebrate under the Obama Administration, but to thousands of American Heroes, it’s one of the most important.

“Our members felt it was important to use this as an opportunity to honor local LGBT Veterans who bravely served their country while suppressing such an important part of who they are” said Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County Vice President Susan McGrath “after all, we have the right to celebrate this milestone because they fought for that right.”

The event will be held at the Queenshead Eurobar & Restaurant at 2501 Central Avenuein DowntownSt. Petersburg.  Local elected officials and Party leaders are invited to attend, along with other members and friends of the community, to help the Stonewall Democrats honor LGBT Veterans.

The Stonewall Democrats of Pinellas County is a not-for-profit political committee that is organized as an affiliated Chapter of the National Stonewall Democrats (NSD) and as chartered Chapter of the Florida Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Democratic Caucus.

STAGEWORKS proudly presents, “Gruesome Playground Injuries”

Gruesome Playground Injuries is a darkly humorous drama and Rajiv Joseph’s most satisfying work. Two eight-year-olds’ lives collide in the nurse’s office: Doug rode his bike off the roof and Kayleen can’t stop throwing up. They are outsiders amongst their peers; desperately lonely children who grow into frightened and conflicted adults — their broken hearts and broken bones draw them ever closer.  These two rebels may only be fit for one another.  But how far can one person go to heal another’s wounds?

Injuries is layered with quirky humor and poignant intensity.”Washingtonian??
Gruesome has you chortling and swallowing back tears”?
DC Theatre Scene?
Gruesome knows all about love. And all about hurt.”?

People were busy unloading it & setting up for the concert.  Dean Bright, creative director of London based Beige Magazine www.beigeuk.com was here to cover opening night. The ERASURE Tomorrow’s World Tour is the first ERASURE (Andy Bell and Vince Clarke) tour in America in 5 years. The tour will make 24 stops in America before returning to back to England. The evening began with a Private VIP pre-Party hosted by Florida Entertainment Group in the Rivoli Room at the Ritz. Miss Alisa Summers with 2 Hot guys, served deserts & treats to the guest. With Premier Bev in the house, Stoli was the drink of choice. Across the hallway in the Royal Room was lNYC/YBOR favorite   Jerry Gloff performing http://www.facebook.com/#!/jeremygloff .  Over 1,000 guest packed The Theatre Ballroom. Up on the 25′ x 44″ theatrical stage was a very impressive set design. Complete with state of the art lighting, sound & even a Huge Gargoyle! The opening act was Frank Musik  http://www.facebook.com/#!/frankmusik . Energetic Frank had everybody moving to the music. Then it was what everybody came for…. Andy Bell singing & Vince Clarke on keyboards. Andy was looking fantastic! He performed all the old favorites like  “A Little Respect,” “Chains of Love” and “Always”. Andy all so thrilled the crowd with several of his new songs that will be on the New album, “Tomorrow’s World”. The back up singers were fantastic and Vince was having a great time on the keyboards behind the giant Gargoyle.  Everybody was having so much fun that nobody wanted the evening to end.
