"Hotel Hell" starring The Historic Don Vicente Inn de Ybor

The Travel Channel TV show “The Dead Files” had quite the un expected time at The Historic Don Vicente Hotel located  here in Ybor City. We will not tell you what they found but let’s just say we will never go into room 305!!! The current owners, the Jack Shiver Family hosted a screening party Oct 28th. Guests were encouraged to come dress as hospital staff & patients. While dining on a ghostly buffet and sipping witches brew the group was agast as to what the investigators found.

All Hallows Ball 2011

All Hallows Ball, “Up In The Air”
With a very long line of creepy and grueling shady characters entering the Tampa Convention Center, it was show time for the annual GLBTA private Halloween Ball. The low foggy misty damp night made a great setting for a Halloween party! Of the invited 5500+ multi-state guests appearing, hundreds were dressed as airplane pilots, Pan Am stewardesses, flying nuns, colorful lit fluffy clouds, tornadoes and a great looking chimney sweep! That was just a few of the coordinated and hand made costumes invitees had fun making and dressing up for the annual charade.The huge 20′ glass domes and picturesque designs all over the convention center were a great background with the blasting upbeat  dance music. Queen & I Thai Restaurant partners, Bryan & Don, wore a lavish Thai costume and Genghis Khan attire. Sharon Rose and Tallahassee kids made intricate peacock tails that were 6′ tall and LED lit. Scott Spar was flying around in his bright yellow bumble bee ensemble. Memorial Hospital Dr. Daryll & friends were giving hefty pixy dustings to all outfits. Sparkling!!!  The crazy MC FILM duo came as one of many, flying nuns! It was another great time all done by community volunteers.

You have been conscripted to serve on the float for the Krewe of SOHO in the Gasparilla Invasion Parade on Saturday, January 28.
With only 100 Members allowed in the Krewe of SOHO,  space is limited.  We are awaiting final approval from Ye Mystic Krewe as to our participation but are accepting Krewe Applications now.

Each Krewe of SOHO member will receive a Krewe T-Shirt,  plenty of beads to throw, a grog of rum, and the fun of being in the Biggest Party and Parade in Tampa.

Total cost to participate $150 per person.
$200 after Nov. 15.  Limited to 100 participants.
Deposit required  $50, balance of $100 due upon approval of our application, approximately Nov. 15.
Deposit will be refunded should we not be approved.
Full costumes are required with the theme as established. Cost of costume is the responsibility of the Krewe member.  This is a partying krewe sponsored by the South Tampa Community News
