The City of Tampa has once again received a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s annual Municipal Equality Index, a nationwide assessment of cities’ commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion in laws, policies and services!
“In Tampa, we celebrate Pride every day of the year by being a city that recognizes its diversity as one of its strongest assets,” Mayor Jane Castor said. “This score reflects our mission to live up to this value.”

PFLAG Tampa hosted the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil in downtown Tampa. They share a connection with Jenny De Leon, one of 47 transgender and gender nonconforming individuals murdered this year. We have to do better.

It was the Friday after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday. Our niece’s husband was up early and out the door shopping. Then he called home all excite that he was at Home Depot and had bought her a ring!!!! Our niece said the she didn’t know Home Depot has a jewelry section. He replied no silly a Ring Door Bell! I told her welcome to the world of old married people. LMAO

After Years of Planning
Work on the streetscape between 24rd st and 26th st along 7th Ave will start the first week of December with an estimated time of completion of May 2022. The project includes the East Ybor Gateway monument and the new redesigned archways and benches, trashcans, Ybor lights and hexagon pavers.

It took a Village “YEARS” to prove we are worthy – had to get the “blessing” of Stormwater, ROW, Transportation, Barrio Latino, YCDC Staff, Wasterwater, Engineering, City Council to approve funds and so many more Departments and people to make this project finally a “REALITY”! We are so VERY grateful!
