The Tampa Museum of Art is set to begin construction on their expansion. As a result, the dog park at Curtis Hixon Park is set to be relocated to the other end of the park.
New Affordable Housing coming to Ybor City
A new workforce housing project is being proposed for 3003 East 15th Avenue in Ybor City. This is just north of I-4 right at the Crosstown Connector.
The project is 5 stories and includes 118 apartments. All apartments are capped at 80% AMI and 20% of the apartments are for under 50% AMI.

Something truly historic is happening in Historic Gary. The HEYGNA board under the leadership of our president Denise Collado successfully proposed that this city owned property located in Gary was turned into a park. After the community met with Tony Mulkey, director of Park and Recreation, he immediately got to work. Next step the city after clearing the land, raising the tree canopy will fence in the property and do ground testing. Gary has never had a public park in its over 120 years of history. We want to take the time to thank Denise for her tireless efforts to improve East Ybor and Gary communities.
