Three Cheers for the Hillsborough County Commissioner’s
In a march a delightful telephone call from Hillsborough County Commissioner Pat Kemp in regards to both TAMPA PRIDE and of the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall for NYC PRIDE in late June. Together we worked on PRIDE ideas for Hillsborough County.
A coordinated Board of Commissioners Meeting with LGBTA members of Hillsborough County was set for June 5th. A lot of LGBTA leaders and community members watched as the LGBT June Pride Month Proclamation was given by Commissioner Pat Kemp.
Commissioner Les Miller added an addendum about the raising of the Pride Flag to ‘Every year in June the Rainbow Flag will be flown in front of the Hillsborough County Building.’
It was accomplished with former gay Commissioner Kevin Beckner present.

The Rainbow Railroad
In countries all over the world, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) people live in basic fear for their freedom, their safety and their lives. They often have nowhere to turn because their government and police not only tolerate but encourage this brutality.
Rainbow Railroad exists to help these people get out of danger to somewhere safe. In the spirit of and with homage to the Underground Railroad, the mission of Rainbow Railroad is to help LGBTQI people as they seek safe haven from state-enabled violence, murder or persecution. Through funds collected by people like you, they are able to support, provide information, and help to arrange safe transportation for these LGBTQI people to somewhere in the world where they can live their lives in freedom.

Tampa PRIDE Partnering up with Professional Sport Teams for PRIDE NIGHTS
Tampa Pride and other area Pride organizations met up with the Rays and Rowdies management to have lunch and finalize plans for the forthcoming professional sports teams Pride Nights.
Rays Pride Night at the Trop is Friday, June 14th and tickets are available at www.mlb.com/rays with Code: Pride4 helping support Tampa Pride. The Rays Baseball MLB franchise is one of 3 MLB Teams that host PRIDE NIGHT!
They support us so lets make sure to support them!
The Rays will be hosting LGBTA events that night and giving away Rays LGBT Rainbow hats.Recognized LGBT leaders and volunteers will be helping with the nights baseball game against the LA Angels.
The Rowdies Soccer Team will be having their Rowdie’s PRIDE Night game June 29th at Al Lang Field in St. Pete. The two teams are under one ownership group. Rainbow Cheering scarfs will be gifts to all attendees.Code for the Rowdies event is Pride4 also.

**DISCLAIMER** It’s a long one!! Hard to believe this weekend will be my one-year anniversary DJing in clubs. Actually it’s my one year anniversary back DJing after 25 years. Who would’ve thought that at 48 years old and being laid off from corporate twice that I would be back pursuing something that should’ve never been put to the side back in 1994 thinking it was only going to be a hobby.(My only regret is..what if? What if I never put this to the side 25 years ago, where would I be now?) This year by far exceeded all my expectations. I’m thankful for Cristoph’s for giving me the opportunity to grow with them as this was their first year as well and gave me my first residency. I was lucky to not have one but two resident gigs at the same time with Tequilas in Ybor. I never thought I would be in the place I am at this moment. Honestly, I thought this moment wouldn’t be for another year or two thinking I had a lot to prove to everyone before they took a chance on me and booked me in their clubs, but word spread quickly!! Thank you to G St Pete, Honey (Power Infiniti-Battle of the Houses), Oasis – Sarasota’s Premier LGBT + Venue and especially Parliament House Orlando for three bookings with two more in the following weeks, and I never thought I would be asked to DJ for six cast members from “Days of Our Lives” in Atlanta! I’ll admit DJing in the clubs opened a lot of doors for me personally too. I had a feature done in Hotspots Central along with many private bookings including wedding engagements, receptions, pool parties (Man Soup 2018/2019), Hunger Run 5K 2018/2019, apartment complexes, birthday parties, and even hosted some karaoke. Oh, I can’t forget to thank all the DJs, VJs, Producers, & Promoters that have guided me along the way!!! This year I have some personal goals that I’d like to accomplish including being booked at certain venues inside Florida and out of state sometime this year. I will say if it wasn’t for Cristoph’s and letting me be booked at other venues, I wouldn’t be where I am today. With that said, I’m still at Cristoph’s on a weekly basis, however, I will have a few Friday night and/or Saturday nights available monthly for bookings not only outside Tampa but also within the Tampa-St. Pete area as well to continue my journey. You can still catch me during the weekend at Tequilas too. Thank you again to everyone for your love and support and to my friends who have also told me “It’s about time you’re back at this”! Also, thank you Bradley Nelson for my viral FB video! haha

Greetings from the Tampa Bay Pride Band and Tampa Bay Symphonic Winds,
Today we are officially announcing our new home for our rehearsals and concerts during the 2019-2020 performance season. Our new location is on the campus of Hillsborough Community College-Ybor 2112 N 15th St,, Tampa, FL 33605. As many of you know this is a return to our roots as we originally formed our band in Ybor City five years ago. This is a huge step in demonstrating our growth and development as a community band. You Just Can Not Make This Up
It is always interesting in how people meet. One couple we know had a very unusual meeting. Our friend had just rented an apartment in Ybor City. The 1st Saturday night in the new apartment there was the sound of somebody trying to open his door. When he opened the door the guy said “Who are You?” and our friend said “No Who are you?” It turned out that the guy at the door was the apartment’s former renter. He was very cocktailed and forgot that he didn’t live here anymore. LMAO!!! Our friend just laughed and said that he had noticed him in the club (Bradley’s on 7th) earlier. The guy apologized and started to leave. Our friend said no wait maybe you should sleep on the couch and not drive. 8 years later they are still together….. Talk about LOVE knocking on your door LMAO
