New Park coming to Gary

Something truly historic is happening in Historic Gary. The HEYGNA board under the leadership of our president Denise Collado successfully proposed that this city owned property located in Gary was turned into a park. After the community met with Tony Mulkey, director of Park and Recreation, he immediately got to work. Next step the city after clearing the land, raising the tree canopy will fence in the property and do ground testing. Gary has never had a public park in its over 120 years of history. We want to take the time to thank Denise for her tireless efforts to improve East Ybor and Gary communities.
