St. Pete Pride 2011
Ninth Annual Pride in Paradise
St. Pete Pride is geared up to celebrate the Ninth Annual Pride in Paradise with a month full of events to rival years past. From pool parties, community service events, baseball games, a plethora of film screenings and beach parties galore – there’s sure to be something for everyone in this year’s lineup of events.
Just to highlight a few: Pride & Passion kicks off Pride season in Tampa Bay this Saturday, May 21st with an event that you definitely don’t want to miss. This year’s event has already surpassed past attendance figures and promises to be an amazing kickoff celebration. On Saturday, June 4th we’ll take off to the Beach for a Pride Family Fun Day at Fort De Soto Park. Evos will provide some tasty lunch for this community day of beach fun, sunning and games. Transgender FORGE (Florida Organizing for Gender Equality) will be hosting our Pride Pageants this year on Sunday, June 5th and June 19th at the Vintage Ultra Lounge in downtown St. Petersburg.
On Saturday, June 11th make sure to join us as Barefoot Wine and Creative Loafing host our annual Beach Cleanup in front of Postcard Inn on the Beach. The crew is amping it up this year with a wine party afterwards by the pool at P.I.
Speaking of Postcard Inn, you don’t want to miss this year’s featured beach weekend getaway, Fire & Ice as Watermark Media and ALandCHUCK.travel take over P.I. turning it into a gay resort for the weekend of St. Pete Pride filled with parties, events and more including the Official St. Pete Pride After Party.
In addition, to all the parties there, Jagermeister will bring the fun on Friday, June 24th at Georgie’s Alibi for the Official Pre-Party of St. Pete Pride following a guest appearance by Johnny Weir at Pride in Fashion at Macy’s, Tyrone Square Mall. Saturday, June 25th is the big day as the Ninth Annual St. Pete Pride Promenade takes off at 9 a.m. followed by the Street Festival lasing throughout the day until 3 p.m., all in the Grand Central District of St. Petersburg. The festival runs along Central Avenue between 21st and 28th Streets.
Flamingo Resort will once again close out the Pride Weekend with Tropical T-Dance by the pool as we say farewell to another fun-filled season of Pride events throughout this beautiful place we call home – St. Petersburg, FL.
There’s definitely something for everyone this year and we’ll be hopping across the Bay area from downtown to the beautiful beaches to make the Ninth Annual St. Pete Pride a Pride in Paradise that you’ll never forget.
