IT’S TIME TO THINK PINK!
The Tampa Bay Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’s 4th Annual PINK WEEKEND is upon us, Feb 25 – 27!
Beginning Friday, February 25th Sister Merry Widow will be hosting a Multimedia Art Show at PLAY (1701 E. 8th Ave Ybor City, Tampa ) The event will feature artists, fashion, performances by Rachael Sage and much, much more. Proceeds will be going to benefit the Hillsborough Arts Council’s Arts EducationYouth Program. 8pm-11pm. $8 Cover
Saturday, February 26th will bring an evening of fun at the fabulous Flamingo Resort in St Petersburg . Special performances by Alexis De La Mer, Iman, Bobbie York, and the Tampa Bay Sisters! 9pm-11pm. No Cover, but Donations Accepted!
Finally, Sunday February 27th, it’s time to enjoy Sister Aggy’s yummy BBQ lunch and special entertainment by Melanie Minyon at Club City Side in Tampa . The event will benefit the Francis House of Tampa Bay. 3pm-??? Never a Cover, but donations graciously accepted! Drink Specials, Jello shots and raffles, as well as antics by your favorite Tampa Sisters will keep the day going! Don’t forget to wear your PINK, and check into www.flsisters.org for more details. NOMINATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED!!!!
The Richard L. Schlegel Legion of Honor Award for Emerging Activist is administered by the GLBTA Resource Center at American University in Washington, D.C. It recognizes a young individual (in high school or an undergraduate in college) who is living in the United States who has made outstanding contributions to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities. The recipient will receive a cash award and includes travel expenses for attending the awards ceremony.
The 2010 Richard L. Schlegel Award will be presented at the 14th annual Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Ally Resource Center Awards Ceremony on April 12th, 2011. Nominations will be accepted from now through Friday, March 4th.
