It’s time to Walk to End HIV and this year’s event will be EPIC!

EPIC (Empath Partners in Care) is Tampa Bay’s largest HIV services organization created from the merger of ASAP (AIDS Services Association of Pinellas) and Tampa’s Francis House.

Together we serve more than 2,000 HIV-positive clients throughout Tampa Bay, touch the lives of more than 10,000 people in our area, and provide:

More than 2,500 free rapid HIV tests each year

Pharmacy services

Educational resources and outreach

Support services including counseling, financial help, food and personal needs pantries

As a past supporter of EPIC (ASAP or Francis House) we know you value this specialized HIV care. We invite you to lace-up your walking shoes and Walk to End HIV by raising funds at the 14th Annual Tampa Bay AIDS Walk and 5k, December 9 at beautiful Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg.

Raise funds by telling your friends and family about why EPIC and its programs and services matter to you. Tell them about the event and ask them to make a donation in person, online through emails you can send or linking to your walk webpage through your social media sites. You will have all the tools to be successful.

If you find you would like to step up your level of support, you can form a team and act as a Team Captain. Top fundraisers and teams are eligible for great prizes. The greatest prize though is knowing you are supporting life-changing HIV care in our community in the hope that one day we will no longer have to walk because HIV will be eradicated.

Thank you again for your past support and we ask for your continued support by registering today. You can sign-up as an individual or join a team. If you cannot participate in this capacity we hope you will consider making a donation to the event.

Ybor City Campus Community Forum

Dear HCC and Ybor City Campus Community Partners and Friends:

Thank you for your past support of Hillsborough Community College, the Ybor City Campus, and me in our efforts to better the lives of thousands of students and their families each year. Your guidance and attention have been invaluable.

With that, I invite you to attend our next Ybor City Campus Community Forum on Thursday, October 5th at 11:45 a.m. in the Ybor Room. Lunch will be provided. The Ybor Room is in the Ybor Building at the corner of 14th Street and 9th Avenue. Parking is available in all HCC lots and the Student Garage at Palm Avenue and Nuccio Parkway.

We will have updates on our enrollment, our legislative initiatives, and new programs. Additionally, we will have some student presentations and networking opportunities. There will be ample time for questions and answers as well as a tour of the Campus where you will get to meet some of our instructors and students in action.

As a partner and friend of HCC and the Ybor City Campus, you are invited to participate in the Community Forum and are recognized as a member of my Campus President’s Community Advisory Council. The Council is designed to enhance open dialogue between the campus administration and the community-at-large and will focus on how the campus can support the community and how the community can support the campus.

Please RSVP to my assistant, Bridget Harris, by Friday, September 29th. She can be reached at 813-253-7754 or Everyone is welcome, so if you have colleagues or friends who would benefit from attending, please invite them as well.

I hope to see you on October 5th.
